We have an opportunity for a self-motivated and ambitious ASP.NET Web Application Developer to join our Technology team and be involved in the software development, testing, and maintenance of web applications, built on the Microsoft .NET Platform. The majority of your time will be spent as part of the Client Projects team, delivering high-quality, interactive, integrated and scalable career portals. You will largely be responsible for the back-end coding and database development for these projects, while other team members will contribute the design and HTML/CSS elements for these projects.

Responsibilities :

Responsibilities will include:

- Technical design for web projects

- Web application development

- Maintenance and testing

- Supporting the application in production

- Optimisation of code

- Integration with other systems, including social media and partner websites

You will be required to perform analysis, design, programming, prototyping, testing, documentation and implementation of new projects. The role will also require diagnostic skills to isolate and resolve issues reported by users or discovered through testing.

In the long-term, you will also get the opportunity to collaborate with the Technical Lead to improve security, reliability and scalability of these websites. Some of these websites receive millions of visitors every year and the quality of the coding, architecture and database design will have a profound impact on these areas.

Skills

Qualifications and Experience

:Educational qualifications should preferably include BA/BSc in Computer Science or related subjects with 2-4 years of web software and database development experience. Technical training and relevant experience may substitute for degree requirements. Relevant experience and demonstrated success in web-based software design, development, integration, and maintenance plus a minimum of two years experience with medium-to-large scale projects is required.

The candidate should possess detailed experience of all the following skills:

- Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 and above

- ASP.NET (VB.NET / C#)

- SQL Server 2005 and above

- XML / XSLT

- Javascript

- Good understanding of scalability and security concepts in web applications

- Excellent command of English Experience in the following would be an advantage:

- Use of source/version control systems

- Javascript frameworks such as jquery, prototype or MooTools

- Development of multi-lingual systems

- Optimisation of web applications

- Security/Stress testing of web applications

- Documentation
